Highway Guess Jacket Photoshoot 4 – Alex Muntean

Alex had the genius idea of going to the unfinished highway for some interesting shots. Unfortunately the pics on the road didn’t turn out as great as we expected but we definitely got some great photos under a bridge we found close by. The underpass was lit up with lights that let out a very “warm” feel. All of the pictures under the overpass looked very orange because of the lighting. This lighting also happens to be Alex’s favorite type of light but I prefer the colder look. The first 21 pictures were edited by yours truly and the rest were done by Alex Muntean.

This was also my first change to edit some raw images in photoshop. I think I overdid it for a few of the shots but I wanted to try it out and see how the effects would look. Overall I am very happy with these images!

My favorite thing about this photoshoot was the Guess Jacket. I love the look, the style, and the setting for these photos because of the amazing Guess jacket. I will be contacting clothing companies to see if they would like their clothes in some of my next photoshoots. I am hoping to try and get a diverse portfolio and would love to see what kind of outfits the clothing companies will hopefully send my way!

Ojibway Park Photoshoot 3 – Alex Muntean

After doing an Ojibway Park Photoshoot with Vito from Xtraordinary Photography I thought it would be a great place for Alex and I to do a solo photoshoot. The park is beautiful but as it turns out there was a lot more plain hiking and walking trails without great areas for photos. We spent about 30 min walking down one trail without being able to find a great background. There were a lot of good shots though and Alex managed to snap a couple great ones when I wasn’t even paying attention.

The biggest problem we had was that the lighting in the forest was peeking through so we had a lot of pictures where my face is partially lit or there are blotches of light coming through. I don’t think this is necessarily bad but it’s not what we had intended. We also missed out on a good shot near a nice litte wooden overpass because there were a lot of people hanging out and we didn’t want to be disruptive.

After the Ojibway Park photoshoot Alex came up with a great idea for a highway photoshoot on the highway that’s nearly finished and closed to traffic. We’ll be doing that next![/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_3″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ class=”” id=””][fusion_title size=”4″ content_align=”right” style_type=”single dotted” sep_color=”” class=”” id=””]Photographer[/fusion_title][fusion_text]

We took a little trip to the Walkerville area and had some fun with some funky outfits. We tried to get a lot of variety in this shoot and I’m pretty happy with the results aside form some questionable facial expressions on my part lol

This photoshoot was better than our first one because we had more privacy and were able to get some great areas in the background. We even saw another photographer and a young couple doing an engagement shoot at the time so that validates us picking a pretty good area.

We took a little bit too long in the park and didn’t get a lot of good light shots in the lighting area near the vines. The vines were actually next to a huge abandoned building, which has a lot of potential for great shots. After the light started to fade we decided to take a little drive down the river to an empty lot with some nice lighting, those are the last few pics we got.

Overall our second shoot was exponentially better than our first. I’m excited to get some more in soon. Now that we’ve got the Walkerville photoshoot underway I think we’ll do an Ojibway photoshoot next, it has a few locations I want to try out.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_3″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ class=”” id=””][fusion_title size=”4″ content_align=”right” style_type=”single dotted” sep_color=”” class=”” id=””]Photographer[/fusion_title][fusion_text]

I was able to learn a little bit about posing, lighting, and facial expressions. One thing I definitely learned is that I have no idea how to smirk but I’ll work on that lol.

You can see some of my portfolio pieces from this photoshoot on at the xtraordinary photography website. I was able to give them tips about how to upgrade their website and they gave me an intro to the basics of photography. One thing that is difficult to gauge is what angle your head should be at. Vito from Xtraordinary Photography was constantly giving me advice on how to shift my head, which directions to tilt and where to look. I’m starting to get the hang of it though 🙂

Another thing I’m trying to focus on is looking more natural, however I think for some photos you don’t want natural, but you’d rather portray a particular emotion and over-exaggerate it a bit.

What do you guys think of the serious faces? I’m kinda diggin them.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_3″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ class=”” id=””][fusion_title size=”4″ content_align=”right” style_type=”single dotted” sep_color=”” class=”” id=””]Company[/fusion_title][fusion_text]

It was a lot of fun and I’m learning a lot at the same time. The main purpose of this photoshoot was to get some nice scenic pictures taken for this website and to start building portfolio pages like this one. After a LOT of testing and playing around with different page designs I’ve decided that this is the best format for my portfolio pieces. The content will change as I have more information to put into the side headings so you can expect the design to continue improving.

As for the Riverfront and University Photoshoot, we had a lot of great ideas but didn’t execute very well. We need to work on lighting a bit and getting some better frames for the shots. I think we’ll see some nice improvements in our next shoot together. We’ve decided to do the next one in the Walkerville area which has a lot of great opportunites for pics. In the mean time I’m going to work a bit on facial expressions and start taking some photos myself.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_3″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ class=”” id=””][fusion_title size=”4″ content_align=”right” style_type=”single dotted” sep_color=”” class=”” id=””]Name[/fusion_title][fusion_title size=”2″ content_align=”left” style_type=”default” sep_color=”” class=”” id=””]Riverfront and University Photoshoot[/fusion_title][fusion_title size=”4″ content_align=”right” style_type=”single dotted” sep_color=”” class=”” id=””]Photographer[/fusion_title][fusion_text]
