This article will be a quick tutorial on how to set up a dual monitor display system on linux with the XrandR program. I use the KDE desktop and there is a tool called krandrtray that tries to set up the two monitors for you, but quite often it fails. So here is how you can do it yourself manually:

Microsoft will block anyone who is using linux from being able to use the full version of Windows Live Hotmail. This should be 100% illegal because they do some user sniffing and check what you are using, if they don''t like it, they block you.
I noticed this when I was trying to add images to my email signature for windows live hotmail and could not do it properly without the full ve ... read more

Alright, enough is enough, I am officially sick of Hotmail and its time that somebody said something about the greedy behavior Microsoft is exhibiting. Here is my situation: I use a Linux operating system (Kubuntu) and I want to use a mail reader like Outlook Express to read my Hotmail messages. This brings me to my first beef with Hotmail.

The longer I use Linux (Kubuntu), the more I find good reasons for switching that were not noticeable to me off the bat. Sure you hear about all these great things like Compiz-Fusion and Open source software, but you don't realize some of these extra benefits until you really sit down and enjoy the OS. These are things I have found to be a great unexpected surprise.
Here's the list:

All Ubuntu users just hear me out. I have this crazy idea that Vista has a very good feature that would be much more important to Ubuntu users then Windows users. How often do you upgrade operating systems with windows? Lets say once every three years (not counting all the times you have to format due to viruses). Well, in Ubuntu you have the option of upgrading to a better operating system ev ... read more

I have been using linux for about seven to eight months and I really haven't done much burning until recently. I have been using K3b which is a linux burning program that comes pre-installed with Kubuntu and I have to admit that its really amazing. I often hear my professors use the analogy that programming is the same as basketball (baseball, football, any sport) and I am here to tell you that it is absolutely not. The main arguement is that both take lots of practice and I am going to explain how this reasoning is fundamentally flawed. After you code something basic, then move on to something more complicated, the basic code seems triv ... read more

This is just something that doesn't make sense to me and I would like to understand why gas stations can't just compete against each other. We live in society that thrives on competition, whether it be our dollar stores or our car dealerships, everybody is competing for our money.
